Course Description

Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in EDUC 115. This course addresses the roles and responsibilities associated with operating a quality early childhood program, including the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful program director. Topics include developing a program philosophy, handbook, and budget, choosing a site, designing an environment, staff hiring and supervision, curriculum planning, standards of quality, health, safety, and nutrition, staff development, teamwork and leadership, and relationships with parents.
