Course Description

Prerequisites: Minimum grade of C in NURS 178, NURS 186, NURS 187, NURS 194, and NURS 195; minimum grade of C in NURS 228, concurrent enrollment allowed. This course focuses on the theoretical application of concepts, principles, and skills needed for identifying and meeting diverse adult medical-surgical client care needs. Emphasis is placed on the theoretical knowledge of the nurse's role in caring for those adults experiencing complex and chronic problems including: medical and surgical interventions, holistic care before, during, and after medical or surgical interventions, and health promotion, education, and maintenance in relation to complex and chronic health problems. [Semesters Offered: Fall, Spring]
