Course Description

Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in BIOL 101. This course explores biodiversity, plant and animal form and function and the principles of ecology. It surveys the unity and diversity of life forms such as bacteria, protists, fungi, nonvascular and vascular plants, and invertebrate and vertebrate animals from an evolutionary perspective; examines details of plant and animal anatomy and physiology in relation to their phylogenies; and introduces principles of and interactions among populations, communities, and the environment. Laboratory reinforces principles of organismal biology and ecology. [Semesters Offered: Spring]
