Course Description

Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in ENGL 115, ENGL 103W, ENGL 103, or ENGL 104, or satisfactory test score placing into ENGL 103W or higher. Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 115 allowed. This course explores diversity in culture, traditions, gender, the development of children, and identifying children with disabilities. Topics covered include special needs children, multicultural education, family support, and gender bias. Discussion will include strategies for early intervention, the importance of families in the education of the child, anti-bias curriculum, appropriate assessment and community services.
